What To Expect
At Richard D. Alston, DDS, MSD, we look forward to meeting you and developing a good working relationship and a beautiful smile too. At your initial visit, Dr. Alston will examine your teeth, your bite, and analyze your jaw movement and facial appearance. He will present an individualized treatment plan and suggest options to meet your specific situation and, as needed, review the advantages of early intervention to prevent or minimize problems.
Our office is at the forefront of technological advances, yet we still take a conservative approach when recommending treatment. We work closely with local dentists and other dental specialists to provide and coordinate comprehensive care.
We pay particular attention to the time we spend with you and strive to keep your overall treatment time to a minimum.
Because a high percentage of our patients are adults, we offer the latest in cosmetic (clear) braces. And for your protection, our office maintains the highest sterilization standards.
The Purpose of the Initial Examination is to Answer:
- What sort of problem is present, if any?
- When is the proper time to begin treatment?
- What type of treatment is indicated?
- How long will treatment take?
- How much will the treatment cost?
If orthodontic treatment is indicated at this time, an appointment for Diagnostic Records is scheduled. If time allows, these diagnostic records can be taken at the initial visit.
What are Diagnostic Records?
- 3D scans of your teeth using iTero
- Panoramic and cephalogram radiographs and tracings.
- Doctor’s studying the diagnostic records and determining the best course of treatment.
